The seminar is co-organised by the Research Section “Migration Processes and Migration Governance” of the Polish Association of European Studies, the Department of European Studies of the Institute of Political Science and Administration at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, and the Department of Political Studies of the Institute of International Studies at SGH Warsaw School of Economics. The Partners of the event include CIVICA Research Hub Transconnect, the Interdisciplinary Centre for Migration Studies at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, Metropolis International Migration Network, Research Committee 46 “Migration and Citizenship” of the International Political Science Association and Team Europe Direct Poland. The seminar is held under the Honorary Patronage of the Warsaw Division of the Board of the Polish Association of European Studies.

We warmly invite you to join the discussion on contemporary migration and asylum governance in the EU, focusing on the implementation of the (New) Pact on Migration and Asylum, which is reforming the EU’s legal, institutional and strategic framework in this area. In the context of evolving geopolitical dynamics, security considerations and social challenges, the seminar will address key dimensions of migration governance in the EU, including asylum and protection systems, management of external borders, return policy, visa and entry systems, solidarity and responsibility-sharing mechanisms, as well as challenges related to the implementation of the new legislative package and perspectives of third countries.
